Appearance

System Settings ​

Global system settings control the default behavior and appearance of MyEmailVault.

Go to Settings > System in the sidebar.

Language ​

Set the display language for the interface. The following languages are supported:

  • English
  • German
  • French
  • Estonian
  • Spanish
  • Italian
  • Portuguese
  • Dutch
  • Greek
  • Japanese

Note: Changing the backend language requires a server restart to take effect. Frontend language changes apply immediately.

Default Theme ​

Choose the default visual theme for all users:

  • Light -- Light background with dark text.
  • Dark -- Dark background with light text.
  • System -- Automatically matches the user's operating system preference.

Support Email ​

Set a support email address that is displayed to users when they need assistance. This appears in help sections and error messages throughout the interface.

Deletion Toggle ​

Enable or disable email deletion system-wide. When deletion is disabled:

  • The automated data lifecycle worker will not delete any emails, regardless of retention policy configuration.
  • Manual deletion actions are also blocked.

This acts as a global safety switch. Use it to suspend all deletions during legal holds, migrations, or other sensitive periods. Retention policies remain configured and will resume enforcement when deletion is re-enabled.
